Bridle Path - Sunnybrook

The Bridle Path and Sunnybrook are about as green and peaceful as Toronto gets. This part of the city is known for beautiful homes, large lots, mature trees and some incredible parks, but what really sets it apart is the amount of nature surrounding the neighbourhood. You can be surrounded by greenery one minute and be back on Bayview Avenue or Yonge Street in just a few minutes.

The homes here are definitely part of what makes the area unique. You’ll find some of Toronto’s largest and most impressive properties, from traditional estate-style homes to custom-built houses surrounded by mature landscaping. There are also more modest homes and condos nearby, particularly around the edges of the neighbourhood, giving the area a little more variety than people might expect.

For families, there are several excellent schools in and around the area, including Crescent School, Toronto French School, Sunnybrook School and Northern Secondary School. There are also several private and public school options nearby.

The real star of the neighbourhood, though, is Sunnybrook Park. It’s huge, with wooded trails, sports fields, open green space and cycling paths. It’s one of those places where you can spend hours walking or biking and completely forget that you’re in the middle of Toronto.

Edwards Gardens and the Toronto Botanical Garden are also nearby, as is the Wilket Creek Trail, which connects into the larger ravine system. The trail is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists and provides a beautiful route through the greenery.

There are plenty of everyday amenities nearby too. Bayview Avenue has restaurants, shops and services, while Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue provide even more options. The area is also close to York Mills, Leaside and Bayview Village.

Getting around is fairly convenient for a neighbourhood that feels this removed from the city. TTC buses run throughout the area, and nearby subway stations provide access to Line 1. The Don Valley Parkway is also close by for drivers.

One of the things that really stands out here is the lifestyle. There’s a lot of privacy and space, but you’re not living hours outside the city. You can walk the trails, take the dog to Sunnybrook, head to a nearby restaurant and still get downtown relatively quickly.
