Learn About The Greenwood-Coxwell Community and Real Estate in Greenwood-Coxwell, Toronto

Greenwood-Coxwell, Toronto

Greenwood-Coxwell is one of those east-end neighbourhoods that has a little bit of everything. It’s close to the Danforth, the Beaches and downtown, but the residential streets still have that comfortable, community feel that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a big city. There are great local shops, cafés, restaurants, parks and plenty of places to get outside.

One of the things I love about Greenwood-Coxwell is the homes. You’ll find plenty of classic Toronto houses, including detached and semi-detached homes, older brick homes, bungalows and renovated properties. A lot of the streets have mature trees and front porches, and there’s a nice mix of longtime residents, young families and first-time buyers.

For families, there are several schools in and around the neighbourhood, including Earl Grey Senior Public School, Monarch Park Collegiate Institute, Greenwood Secondary School and Dundas Junior Public School. There are also Catholic school options nearby. With so many parks and recreation facilities close by, there’s no shortage of places for kids to play or families to spend time outdoors.

The outdoor space is definitely one of the highlights of living here. Greenwood Park is right in the heart of the neighbourhood and has sports fields, a swimming pool, playgrounds and plenty of open space. It’s also home to the popular Greenwood Park Outdoor Pool, which is a great spot to cool off during the summer.

You’re also close to Ashbridges Bay Park and Woodbine Beach, so heading down to the lake for a walk, bike ride or summer afternoon is easy. Leslie Grove Park and the nearby ravine trails give you even more options when you want to get outside.

Another great thing about Greenwood-Coxwell is the local shopping and food scene. Gerrard Street East has become a real destination for independent restaurants, cafés, bakeries and shops, while Queen Street East and the Danforth are both close by when you’re looking for even more options. There are lots of small businesses here that give the neighbourhood its own personality.

Getting around is easy too. Coxwell Station and Greenwood Station are both nearby, giving you quick access to the TTC and downtown. There are also several bus routes throughout the neighbourhood, and the Danforth and Gerrard Street East make getting around by car fairly straightforward.

The neighbourhood is also home to some great community spaces. Greenwood Community Centre offers recreation programs and activities, while East York Community Recreation Centre is also close by. Throughout the year, local parks and streets are busy with community events and activities, which adds to that friendly neighbourhood feeling.

Greenwood-Coxwell is also close to some of the east end's best-known spots. You’re just a short trip from The Beaches, Woodbine Beach, Ashbridges Bay and the Danforth, while downtown Toronto is easily accessible by subway. It’s one of those locations where you really can have the best of both worlds.

But what really makes Greenwood-Coxwell stand out is the community. There’s a very walkable, friendly feeling here, with people heading to their favourite coffee shop, walking the dog through Greenwood Park or chatting with neighbours on their front steps. It feels lively without being overwhelming.

You’re close to great food, parks, transit and the lake, with downtown just a short trip away, but you still get that classic east-end neighbourhood feel. Greenwood-Coxwell is a great option for families, young professionals, first-time buyers and anyone looking for a community that feels connected and full of life.
