Learn About The O'Connor-Parkview Community and Real Estate in O'Connor-Parkview, Toronto

O'Connor-Parkview, Toronto

O'Connor-Parkview is one of those east-end neighbourhoods that can sometimes fly under the radar, but that’s part of its charm. It’s a quiet, established community with tree-lined streets, family homes, plenty of parks and easy access to the rest of Toronto. You’re close to the Danforth, the Don Valley and the Beaches, but when you’re walking around the neighbourhood, it still feels peaceful and residential.

One of the things I love about O'Connor-Parkview is the mix of homes. You’ll find classic Toronto bungalows, detached and semi-detached houses, brick homes, townhomes and newer builds. Many of the streets have mature trees and good-sized lots, and there’s a nice mix of longtime residents, young families and first-time buyers.

For families, there are several schools in and around the neighbourhood, including O'Connor Public School, Presteign Heights Elementary School, Secord Elementary School and Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts. East York Collegiate Institute is also nearby, along with several Catholic school options. With plenty of parks, playgrounds and recreation facilities nearby, there’s lots to keep families busy.

The outdoor space is one of the biggest perks of living here. Taylor Creek Park is close by and offers walking and biking trails through the Don Valley, while Stan Wadlow Park has sports fields, playgrounds and plenty of open space. Dieppe Park is another local favourite, with trails, sports facilities and a great place for kids to run around.

You’re also not far from Evergreen Brick Works, which is a great place to spend a weekend exploring trails, gardens, markets and community events. The surrounding Don Valley ravine system gives you even more opportunities to get outside without having to leave the city.

There are plenty of everyday amenities close to home too. St. Clair Avenue East and O'Connor Drive have a mix of local shops, restaurants, cafés and services, while The Danforth is just a short trip away when you’re looking for even more options. East York Town Centre is also nearby for groceries, shopping and everyday errands.

Getting around is fairly easy too. There are several TTC bus routes throughout the neighbourhood, with subway access from nearby Victoria Park, Woodbine and Coxwell Stations. The Don Valley Parkway is also close by, which is a big bonus for commuters heading downtown or across the GTA.

One of the things that makes O'Connor-Parkview interesting is how close it is to some of Toronto’s best east-end destinations. You’re a short trip from The Beaches and Woodbine Beach, while Riverdale Park East is nearby for those incredible downtown skyline views. It’s also easy to get into the Danforth for restaurants, cafés and local shops.

The neighbourhood has also seen quite a bit of change over the years, with older homes being renovated and new builds appearing alongside them. That mix gives the area a nice balance between established neighbourhood character and newer homes and amenities.

But what really makes O'Connor-Parkview stand out is the community. It has a comfortable, down-to-earth feel, with quiet streets, parks full of families and neighbours who have lived in the area for years. It’s the kind of place where you can have a backyard, walk to a local park and still be downtown in a reasonable amount of time.

You’re close to green space, schools, transit, shopping and some of the east end’s best attractions, while still getting that quiet residential feeling. For families, first-time buyers and anyone looking for a little more space without giving up city convenience, O'Connor-Parkview is definitely worth a look.
