Dorset Park

Dorset Park is one of those Scarborough neighbourhoods that offers a lot without trying too hard. It’s a welcoming, established community with quiet residential streets, plenty of parks and easy access to shopping, schools and transit. It’s also a neighbourhood where you can often get a little more space for your money, which makes it popular with families and first-time buyers.

One of the things I love about Dorset Park is the mix of homes. You’ll find plenty of classic post-war bungalows and detached homes, along with semi-detached houses, townhomes and apartment buildings. Many of the homes have larger lots and mature trees, and there’s a nice mix of longtime residents and newer families who have discovered the area.

One of the biggest perks of living in Dorset Park is the amount of green space nearby. Dorset Park itself has sports fields, playgrounds and open space, while Warden Woods Park and the Taylor Creek trail system are close by for walking, biking and exploring. It’s nice to have so many opportunities to get outside without having to leave the neighbourhood.

There are also plenty of things to do nearby. Dorset Park Community Hub and local recreation facilities offer programs and activities for residents, while Scarborough Town Centre is just a short drive or TTC ride away. With hundreds of stores, restaurants and services, it’s one of the biggest shopping destinations in the area.

Getting around is another big advantage. Kennedy Station is nearby, giving residents access to the TTC subway and bus network as well as GO Transit. Lawrence East Station is also close by, making it easy to get around Toronto without always needing a car. Major roads including Kennedy Road, Ellesmere Road and Lawrence Avenue East also make driving around Scarborough and beyond fairly convenient.

Dorset Park is also close to some of Scarborough’s bigger attractions. Thomson Memorial Park is nearby and offers walking trails, green space and a glimpse into Scarborough’s history. Scarborough Museum is located within the park and is a great little local spot to explore. And when you’re looking for shopping, food or entertainment, Scarborough Town Centre and the surrounding area are just minutes away.
