Chaplin Estates, Toronto
Chaplin Estates is one of those neighbourhoods where the first thing you notice is how peaceful it feels. The streets are lined with mature trees and character homes, but you’re still only minutes from Yonge and Eglinton, transit, shopping and everything Midtown has to offer.
There’s a great mix of detached homes, semis and renovated properties throughout the neighbourhood. Many of the houses have beautiful original details, front porches, gardens and good-sized yards, while newer renovations and additions have made them work for modern family life.
For families, there are several schools nearby, including Bessborough Drive Elementary and Middle School, Eglinton Junior Public School, North Toronto Collegiate Institute and Forest Hill Junior and Senior Public School.
The Kay Gardner Beltline Trail is one of the biggest perks of living here. The trail runs right through the area and is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists and dog owners. It’s a great way to get some fresh air without having to leave the neighbourhood. Oriole Park is another local favourite, with playgrounds, sports fields, tennis courts and plenty of open space. You’re also close to Eglinton Park, which has even more recreation options.
For shopping and dining, Yonge Street, Eglinton Avenue and Avenue Road are all nearby. You’ll find everything from local cafés and restaurants to grocery stores and everyday services.
Transit is also a big plus. Chaplin Station on Line 1 makes getting downtown easy, while the Eglinton Crosstown provides another east-west option.
