Waterfront Neighbourhood

Toronto’s Waterfront is one of those neighbourhoods where you really feel like you’re living in the middle of the city, but having Lake Ontario right outside your door changes the whole experience. You have condo towers, restaurants, entertainment and some of Toronto’s biggest attractions all around you, but you can also walk along the water, head out for a bike ride or sit by the lake and completely change the pace of your day.

One of the things I love about the Waterfront is just how much there is to do outside. The Martin Goodman Trail runs right along the lake and is always busy with walkers, runners and cyclists. You’ll also find great spots like HTO Park, Sugar Beach and the Toronto Music Garden, where you can sit by the water, have a picnic or just enjoy the views.

Harbourfront Centre is another big part of the neighbourhood, with arts, cultural events, performances and activities happening throughout the year. In the warmer months especially, the whole area really comes alive with patios, boats in the harbour and people out enjoying the waterfront.

The housing here is mostly condos, ranging from established buildings to newer luxury towers, along with some townhomes tucked into different pockets of the neighbourhood. Depending on the building and location, you can find incredible views of Lake Ontario, the Toronto Islands or the downtown skyline. For anyone who likes condo living and wants amenities right outside their door, there are a lot of options.

The location is definitely one of the biggest perks. You’re close to the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Scotiabank Arena, as well as St. Lawrence Market and the Financial District. Queens Quay has restaurants, cafés and everyday services, and you’re never far from even more shopping and dining throughout downtown.

Getting around is easy too. Union Station is within walking distance from much of the neighbourhood, giving you access to the subway, GO Transit and the UP Express. Streetcars run along Queens Quay, and the Waterfront is also one of the easiest parts of the city to explore by bike or on foot.

And if you want a complete change of scenery, the Toronto Island ferry is right nearby. In just a short trip across the harbour, you can be at the beaches, parks and trails of the Toronto Islands, which is a pretty unique perk when you live downtown.

But what really makes the Waterfront stand out is the lifestyle. You can walk along the lake in the morning, head downtown for work, catch a Jays or Raptors game that evening and finish the night walking home along the water.



It has all the energy and convenience of downtown Toronto, but the lake, parks and trails give it something completely different. For anyone who loves being close to the action but also wants outdoor space and waterfront views, it’s a pretty special place to call home.
